Oak Tree Meadows’s 16+ supported accommodation service is for young people aged 16-18 years old for whom the Local Authority has a statutory duty. We work with young people who are:

  • Leaving care
  • Looked after
  • Risk of homelessness

Our service operates in full alignment with quality standards to ensure young people are empowered as they transition toward adulthood. Chellaston Road


Chellaston Road offers a safe and welcoming home for unaccompanied young people aged 16 to 18, providing a supportive environment for short, medium, or long-term stays. Located in a Allenton part of Derby, this spacious, newly refurbished six-bedroom semi-detached house is just a few minutes' walk from various local amenities and bus routes. This prime location ensures that young people can easily access essential services, shopping, and community hubs as they begin their journey toward independence.

The home is managed by an experienced Service Manager and a dedicated team of qualified support workers who are available 24/7 to provide guidance and mentorship. Our support packages are flexible, typically starting from five hours of direct assistance, and are designed to help young people navigate their new surroundings and develop the life skills needed for the future. The focus is on empowering each individual to thrive within a communal setting while receiving the right level of oversight to ensure their well-being.

Inside, the property has been finished to a high standard with modern furnishings and all the comforts of a contemporary home, including a fully fitted kitchen, laundry facilities, and a comfortable communal lounge for relaxing or socializing. Each young person has their own spacious bedroom, which includes an ensuite facility and a private kitchenette area, allowing them to practice independent cooking and food storage in their own space. We provide individual keys to every room and warmly encourage residents to personalize their bedrooms with their own items to help them feel truly at home.

Because the home is so centrally located, young people are perfectly positioned to engage with the local community. There are numerous recreational activities, social clubs, and transport links within walking distance, all of which promote positive social inclusion and help young people build strong networks during their transition to adult life.
